ABOUT

Loretta Brown

TRUSTED ADVISOR | STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP COACH
B.A, MSW (HONS) · MASTER COACH EMCC

For more than 25 years, I have worked alongside some of Aotearoa New Zealand's most influential leaders across business, public sector, iwi, philanthropic and for-purpose organisations.

I am a specialist in change leadership. The leaders I work with are not looking for incremental improvement, they are navigating complex systems, leading transformative agendas, and asking the hardest questions about what leadership is really for.

My work sits at the intersection of the strategic and the personal. Most advisors operate at one level. I hold both, because at this level, they are inseparable.

EXPERIENCED LEADER

Loretta founded the New Zealand Coaching and Mentoring Centre; an organisation that played a significant role in shaping the professional coaching landscape in New Zealand over more than two decades.

THE WORK THAT IS WORTH DOING

The leaders I work with are successful, they are asking what it means to go further

They are often pioneering: working within old systems and mindsets, creating new pathways forward while carrying the full weight of the present.

I know the complexity of wider systemic change work. I understand the personal cost of leading something that matters at scale; the isolation, the long view required, the gap between what is and what could be.

Some leaders have achieved a great deal and are now asking what they want to influence to be focused on now.

Others are ready to step forward - from behind the scenes to front and centre.

I work with leaders wanting a new conversation with themselves about what's next.

Together, we’ll tackle the tough stuff, push beyond the status quo, and ensure you continue to shape outcomes that truly matter - because the world needs leaders like you to shape a better future.

“In the noise, the space for deeper reflection on what you’re really trying to achieve, and why, is easily lost. That’s why leading at this level requires exceptional support. "

What is an EMCC Master Coach?

A European Mentoring and Coaching Council Master Coach accreditation represents the highest coach achievement attainable, and one held by only a small number of coaches worldwide.

Earning it requires a minimum of seven years of practice, 500 client hours across at least 40 clients, sustained contribution to the coaching profession, and rigorous evidence of innovation and impact assessed by senior peers. It is not a qualification that can be purchased through a training programme - it is earned through the demonstrated quality of a body of work, over time.

For leaders working with Loretta, it means working with someone whose depth of experience and professional standing has been independently verified against the highest international standards and whose ongoing commitment to supervision, reflective practice, and professional development is ensured.

A note from Loretta

I am a social scientist by training and began my early working life in community development, social research and social policy. That grounding never left me.

The most effective commercial leaders I've worked with share something with the best community leaders: they stay connected to the people they serve, at every level. They understand that purpose isn't something layered on top of a business - it is the business.

My role is to help business leaders connect with the history of their organisation, clarify the purpose at its centre, and to stay connected to the people and communities involved, together shaping what comes next. Commercial and impactful.

When purpose and values are genuinely embedded into how an organisation thinks and acts, the creation of real value and commercial success goes hand in hand.

I work virtually with leaders across New Zealand and around the world. I am inspired in my work by living on Waiheke Island for more than 30 years.y on the individual and the work that matters most.

Begin the conversation in confidence.
