Loretta Brown change leadership specialist

ABOUT

Loretta Brown

STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP ADVISOR · B.A, MSW (HONS) · MASTER COACH EMCC

For more than 25 years, I have worked alongside some of Aotearoa New Zealand's most influential leaders across business, public sector, iwi, philanthropic and for-purpose organisations.

I am a specialist in change leadership. The leaders I work with are not looking for incremental improvement, they are navigating complex systems, leading transformative agendas, and asking the hardest questions about what leadership is really for.

My work sits at the intersection of the strategic and the personal. Most advisors operate at one level. I hold both, because at this level, they are inseparable.

MASTER COACH - EMCC

The globally respected Master Coach accreditation from the European Mentoring and Coaching Council. The highest level of professional recognition in the field.

MSW (HONS) · B.A

Academic grounding in social and systemic thinking forms the intellectual foundation of Loretta's approach to leadership and change.

25+ YEARS · EVERY SECTOR

Guided hundreds of senior leaders across business, public sector, iwi, philanthropic and for-purpose organisations in Aotearoa and internationally.

AOTEAROA NZ

Grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, a deep commitment to the future of NZ and the leaders who are shaping it. Wellington born, Waiheke Island home for more than 30 years.

IN DEPTH

The leaders I work with are successful, they are asking what it means to go further.

They are often pioneering: working within old systems and mindsets, creating new pathways forward while carrying the full weight of the present.

I know the complexity of wider systemic change work. I understand the personal cost of leading something that matters at scale; the isolation, the long view required, the gap between what is and what could be.

Some leaders have achieved a great deal and are now asking what they want their influence to be used for. Others are ready to step forward — from behind the scenes to front and centre. All of them are having a new conversation with themselves about what's next.

My role is to walk beside you, to help you find your place to stand. To help you reconnect with who you are and what you stand for, and then lead from that place, fully and at scale.

Leadership advisor NZ

“In the noise, the space for deeper reflection on what you’re really trying to achieve, and why, is easily lost. That’s why leading at this level requires exceptional support. "

What is an EMCC Master Coach?

The EMCC Master Practitioner accreditation represents the apex of the European Mentoring and Coaching Council's individual accreditation framework - the highest level attainable, and one held by only a small number of coaches worldwide.

Earning it requires a minimum of seven years of practice, 500 client hours across at least 40 clients, sustained contribution to the coaching profession, and rigorous evidence of innovation and impact assessed by senior peers. It is not a qualification that can be purchased through a training programme - it is earned through the demonstrated quality of a body of work, over time.

For leaders working with Loretta Brown, it means engaging with a practitioner whose depth of experience and professional standing has been independently verified against the highest international standards and whose ongoing commitment to supervision, reflective practice, and professional development is built into the credential itself.

A note from Loretta

I began my working life in community development, social research and social policy. That grounding never left me.

The most effective commercial leaders I've worked with share something with the best community leaders: they stay connected to the people they serve, at every level. They understand that purpose isn't something layered on top of a business - it is the business. My role is to help business leaders hold that understanding: to know the history of what they've built, clarify the purpose at its centre, stay connected to the communities involved and to shape what comes next. Commercial and impactful.

When purpose and values are genuinely embedded into how an organisation thinks, decides and acts, profit and impact move together.

I do this work from Waiheke Island, where I have lived for more than 30 years. Working virtually with leaders across New Zealand and around the world.

Begin the conversation in confidence.
